Northwest Houston Works! – An Economic Outlook Forum to Provide a Closer Look at Northwest Houston

The Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce hosts its 6th annual Economic Outlook Forum, Northwest Houston Works! on Friday, April 1st from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Southwestern Energy. Northwest Houston Works!  will provide economic snapshots of specific business and community developments in Northwest Harris County, updates on population and labor force as well as the perspective from Washington delivered by US. Congressman Ted Poe and US. Congressman Kevin Brady.

Northwest Houston Works! has become the area’s most significant spotlight on our community’s economic health. The event will kick off with an opening keynote address by Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner R. Jack Cagle who will present the perspective for Precinct 4 and surrounding areas.  The Economic Outlook Forum luncheon keynote address will be delivered by the esteemed Steven Mueller, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Southwestern Energy.  Special guest speakers include Captain Bill Diehl, President of the Greater Houston Port Bureau, Tim Keith, CEO of Texas Central Partners, and Scott Davis, Regional Director of Metrostudy.

Additional speakers include Constable Mark Herman, Sheriff Ron Hickman, Tim Schauer, Co-Lead at Cornerstone Government Affairs and Dr. Adam Perdue, Economist for the Institute of Regional Forecasting for the C.T. Bauer College of Business.

“This is an important event in our community especially at a time when there are many questions about the direction our economy is heading.  The idea is to bring in a panel of experts who can provide insight that will allow businesses to prepare for the future with confidence” said Barbara Thomason, president of the Houston Northwest Chamber.

This event is presented by Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital and sponsored by Southwestern Energy, Office Systems of Texas, CenterPoint Energy, Frost Bank, North Houston Regional Center for Economic Development, and United Airlines.

Each year the Northwest Houston Works! Economic Outlook Forum is coordinated by a volunteer committee comprised of community leaders.  This year the committee is chaired by Anne Vallette, former Executive Director for the Klein ISD Education Foundation.  Anne has been a highly effective and committed leader and has expertly chaired the forum for the past three years.
